April 27 Spring Shorebirds Walk
In partnership with the Sandy Hook Foundation, join us on Sunday, April 27 for our Spring Shorebirds Walk! Celebrate the season looking for all your favorite coastal birds. Grab your adventure buddy and join us on Sunday, April 27 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
Birding is for everyone. All are welcome on our friendly and respectful Beachy Birder Adventures!
We will meet at the Life-Saving Service Station of Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook. We will walk on the paved, flat multi-use path and maybe a boardwalk trail or two for about two miles. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, bring water and binoculars if you have them.
Our outings are rain or shine but in the event of extreme weather we will reschedule for a more enjoyable experience. Let’s get birdy!

Half of the proceeds from our Spring Shorebirds Walk will be donated to the Sandy Hook Foundation.
The Sandy Hook Foundation is the official friends group to the National Park Service at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, a unit of Gateway National Recreation Area. Established in 1989, the Foundation has funded cultural, educational, environmental, and conservation programs and has helped restore and preserve historic structures of the Sandy Hook Lighthouse and Fort Hancock — both National Historic Landmarks.
Our purpose is to lead guided bird walks throughout New Jersey, encouraging all to appreciate the beauty and wonder of nature. Beachy Birder Adventures gives everyone a chance to be curious, learn and discover something new. Our walks are low key and meant for the bird curious. We slow-bird. We look to meet people where they are through lighthearted humor.
