April 13 Sit Spot: Hang out for the Bird Curious
Are you new to birding? Curious about the birds beyond your backyard or neighborhood? Grab a camp chair or picnic blanket and let’s sit and learn together! Join us for a free beginner birder gathering on Sunday, April 13 from 11 am – 1 pm. Feel free to come and go as you please.
We will sit in the shade on benches near the water and look out for wading birds, songbirds, waterfowl, and anyone else who is in the park. The parking lot and an accessible Port-a-Potty will be visible from where we will be sitting. We will hear traffic from the New Jersey Turnpike, New Jersey Transit trains, and construction noise during this urban birding experience.
Birding is for everyone. All are welcome on our friendly and respectful Beachy Birder Adventures!
We will meet at Richard W. DeKorte Park. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, bring a chair, water, layers, snacks, a hat, and binoculars if you have them. We have five pairs of 8×25 birding binoculars for you to borrow as needed, and we will have a spotting scope to look through as well.
Our outings are rain or shine but in the event of extreme weather we will reschedule for a more enjoyable experience. We will email you by 8pm the night before if we are going to do so. Let’s bird by butt!
Meet at Richard W. DeKorte Park
