In late October 2016, I was honored to join high school students from Barack Obama Green Charter High School in Plainfield at Duke Farms. The students were part of Teen Action Leadership Opportunities for Nature (TALON). TALON encourages students’ interest in STEM and natural sciences.

TALON students released birds that were banded as part of a scientific study on migration and habitat patterns at Duke Farms in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Birds banded that day included: American Goldfinch, Northern Cardinal, Song Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, Eastern Phoebe.
